With a second lockdown set to start tomorrow (Thursday November 5), our message to the residents of Kenilworth is simple - keep on supporting your local businesses.

Many are once again improvising to stay in business - and stay within the rules - by providing click and collect services, as well as online offers.

The run-up to Christmas is a vital time for businesses so these latest restrictions will have a huge impact on them.

We supported local businesses during the first lockdown and we will continue to do so.

Sarah Kershaw, chair of the Kenilworth Chamber of Trade, said: "Kenilworth town has a fabulous array of shops, cafes, restaurants and salons and we all need to support them.

"Many have shown great resilience and initiative, often thinking outside the box in the ways that they deliver a service or product to their customers. They have grown their websites; they are providing online shopping; doing home deliveries.

"They are trying very hard to survive at what would have been their busiest time and we all need to support that in every way we can. We would urge customers to visit these websites; order online; or phone them up to place that order. Share, like and comment on their posts on social media; recommend their services or products to friends and relatives.

"Our main shopping areas came back to life with a real buzz with plenty of excitement ahead for the Christmas season. Now as we enter this second lockdown down it is more important than ever that we #supportlocalKenilworth to make sure that buzz is there for us in 2021.

"Kenilworth Chamber have a strong Christmas campaign in place to support and promote those businesses. We are asking all businesses and our community here in Kenilworth to take part in our #supportlocalkenilworth campaign. Follow the Chamber’s social media feeds and share and engage with us whenever possible. We are asking businesses to share with the chamber a picture of your perfect gifts, along with details of who you are and what’s great about your business, for us to share (email [email protected])

"We are co-hosting three online retail therapy evenings with Socially Shared Women’s Networking and Business Support and Ladies First Professional – giving local retailers an opportunity to showcase their wares and a fabulous opportunity for us all to shop from the comfort of our homes.
