Kenilworth pub named as one of the best when it comes to great customer feedback

A Kenilworth pub has been named as one of the best when it comes to great customer feedback by a worldwide review site.

And during what is a difficult time for all pubs, the 2020 Travellers’ Choice award for restaurants, awarded by Tripadvisor, has given staff at The Gauntlet the perfect boost.

Based on a full year of Tripadvisor reviews, prior to any changes caused by the pandemic, award winners are known for consistently receiving great diner feedback, placing them in the top 10 per cent of hospitality businesses around the world.

The landlord of the pub, Simon Moore, said: “This is absolutely amazing. We always strive to provide the best food and service possible in the area, and combined with a friendly atmosphere and value for money menu, we are very proud of what we do.

"To be recognised like this though makes you feel very proud. It came completely out of the blue – Tripadvisor ratings are based on personal reviews from our customers and we didn’t even know we were in the running for an award.

"During lockdown we’ve made many improvements to the pub, but business has still been very difficult even now pubs are back open again. This has given the whole team a real boost.”
