The merger of the two businesses aims to offer clients a wider range of services and lettings opportunities. It follows negotiations successfully concluded between both sides over the past few months.

Oliver Knight of Knight and Rennie said: “We are delighted to be joining forces with a company of the reputation of Anne Reeve. Our customers will gain from a vastly increased choice of lettings and from the experience of the Anne Reeve team.”

For her part, Anne Reeve described the move as exciting and one which would allow for the continued expansion of the lettings business.

She said: “We have grown very fast over the past five years and we have found the perfect partner in Knight & Rennie. We will be better together and our customers, landlords and tenants alike, will benefit from access to a host of additional services.”

The move comes on the back of a successful period of trading for both parties, with Knight & Rennie reporting an increase in activity of more than 30 per cent in the past year alone, while Anne Reeve Lettings has also seen business grow considerably in recent months.

Both Anne Reeve and Knight & Rennie have voluntarily signed up to Property Ombudsman Scheme and are bound by its code of practice.
