MP to visit SASCo’s new warehouse

Warwick and Leamington MP Chris White will visit Warwick SASCo’s new warehouse at Heathcote to promote UKTI’s Export Week, April 7-11.

The company recently completed the warehouse because it needed to expand and facilitate growth for more products to more customers.

From its first year of business in 1981 Warwick SASCo has looked beyond the UK to develop business.

The company manufactures plastic products for daily use in hospital operating rooms, clinics and wards along with products tailored for home care. Products include surgical instrument containers, trays and bowls for medical procedures, bedpans, urinal bottles and feeding cups for patient care.

In 1981 their first export orders went to Ireland, Holland and New Zealand. Thirty years on they continue with the same partners for selling and distribution. However, today they count almost 70 countries as monthly customers whilst still a managing a strong UK presence.

Managing director Darby Booth said: “Exporting is easy, it’s hardly any different from selling in the UK. Naturally the internet offers instant opportunity for overseas customers to buy your products and services but you can readily have support and information from 3 local sources; the Chamber of Commerce in Coventry, UK Trades & Investment website and your bank. All have trained personnel ready to get you started and can further assist with export planning and find customers in different countries.”

Warwick SASCo’s top five markets are USA, Germany, Russia, Hong Kong and China. Last year they manufactured two bespoke products designed just for Chinese hospitals.
