As part of a comprehensive national investment scheme, Warwick Northbound and Southbound service stations, which are between Junction 12 and 13 of the M40, were officially opened to the public on April 14 by Welcome Break chief executive officer Rod McKie, alongside Cllr Alan Wilkinson, vice-chairman of Warwick District council.

The refurbishment represents an investment of around £1,000,000 by the company which has 27 motorway services areas around the UK, and has created 71 jobs.

After the success of the initial three re-launches in 2014, this development is the fourth Welcome Break site in the UK to be re-launched with the brand’s new format this year and another two further sites in the Welcome Break estate will also receive a makeover over the coming two months.

As well as benefiting from an extended range of food and drink, customers at these sites can enjoy comfortable surroundings, a large, multi-screen video wall, soft seating and booth seats, along with free Wi-Fi and charging sockets to keep all phones, tablets and laptops fully topped up.

Rod McKie said: “Our Warwick Northbound and Southbound service stations represent a new chapter in the Welcome Break story, and provide customers with even more of the warm, comfortable and rewarding experience that we’re known for. Our customers told us that they wanted a wider selection of good food, including top quality brands and wider choices to meet different nutritional needs.

“The brands on offer at Welcome Break really offer something to everyone, and the new environment provides the ideal place in which to enjoy them.”
