"No girl should miss out due to cost alone": Fundraising drive will help young people in Rugby
A fundraising drive has been launched to help young people in Overslade.
Money is being raised by 1st Overslade Guides and Rangers for an educational trip to Ypres in July 2027.

They have launched a Go Fund me page which says donations will help invest in the confidence, education, and future opportunities of young people in the community.
Organiser Katherine Hancock said: “Overslade is one of the most deprived areas of Rugby, and many of the girls and leaders in our unit face significant financial barriers.
"For some of them, opportunities like this simply would not be possible without the support and commitment of Guiding and the wider community.
"We are determined that no girl should miss out on this experience due to cost alone.
"The trip to Ypres will give the girls a chance to learn about history, remembrance, and the importance of peace, while also developing confidence, independence, and resilience. Travel experiences like this can be truly life-changing, especially for young people who may not otherwise have the chance to go abroad.
"We are working hard to fundraise as a unit, but we cannot do it alone. Any support you are able to offer — whether through a donation, sponsorship, or other form of assistance — would make a real difference and help ensure that every girl who wants to take part can do so.”
