Mountaineer Kenton Cool and his team donned Mask-arade personalised masks at Everest base camp (5,364 metres above sea level).

Cool honoured a 1924 pledge made by Olympian Lt Col Strutt who, after famously attempting to climb Mount Everest announced that one day he would take one of his gold medals back to the summit.

The Mask-arade story is almost as impressive. When the Three Maskateers (Chris O’Nyan, Ray Duffy and Dean Walton) got together in a pub in 2008 to discuss a new venture, no way in their wildest dreams did they envisage that in just five years’ time they would be running the world’s leading personalised and celebrity mask company.

Mask-arade has evolved into a multi-million pound business, with official licences secured for worldwide territories. Their appearances on Dragons’ Den and two major Royal events have certainly helped grow the business. However, brands such as One Direction and Family Guy are pushing sales through the roof.
