One stop website to promote tenders

A new website has been launched to promote
tendering opportunities from six local authorities – to
businesses – however large or small – across Warwickshire and Coventry.

The Coventry Solihull Warwickshire Joint E-Tendering System (CSW-JETS) is a new sub-regional tendering portal which is backed by the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership’s (CWLEP) SME Business Group.

Coventry City Council, Warwickshire County Council, North Warwickshire Borough Council, Nuneaton and Bedworth Council, Rugby Borough Council, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Solihull Community Housing have signed-up to the system which gives one point of contact to advertise business opportunities across the local authorities.

Bruce Undy from the Federation of Small Businesses and board lead of the CWLEP SME Business Group said the site was easy to navigate and businesses only needed to register once to access procurement opportunities from across the region.

“The SME Business Group at the CWLEP is committed to ensuring SMEs across Coventry and Warwickshire have access to procurement opportunities for contracts whether they are of small value or large,” he said.

“This new website will take a large step towards helping businesses, no matter how many staff they employ, to have the chance to bid for work which is needed by local authorities and councils – whether that is painting and decorating or major infrastructure projects.

“Having a single point of contact at this website will make the whole process much simpler and by registering, companies will receive alerts to make them aware of procurement opportunities as well as allowing them to be able to express interest in contracts.

“This will raise the standard of the procurement process and will ensure everyone who has registered doesn’t miss out on a business opportunity, which is part of the CWLEP’s ethos of identifying procurement opportunities.”

Amrik Bhabra, operational chairman of the CWLEP SME Business Group, said the sub-group of the CWLEP was committed to engaging with the widest possible business audience and this new website was a one-stop shop to tender or quote for work.

He said: “The tender process and documents have been designed to be completed in just a few minutes because we all know how time consuming running a business is.”
