Opening of new meeting rooms

SOUNDPROOFING, note taking and translation services, Wi-Fi and freshly prepared food are among the benefits of a new meeting and training centre in Leamington town centre.

Leamington-based market research fieldwork specialists PeoplePeople UK has invested more than £200,000 in its ‘The People Place’ meeting rooms in Dormer Place, aiming to create a more personal ‘boutique’ alternative to hotels and conference centres.

The town’s mayor Cllr Yvonne Moore opened the venue at an event attended by many of the town’s business community last month.

After the ribbon cutting, visitors were shown round The People Place’s two spacious sound-proofed suites, breakout rooms and chillout space.

Business facility manager Philip White said: “The People Place is an incredible asset to Leamington. We provide a bespoke alternative for businesses that are bored with staid hotels and overpriced conference facilities. As a team, we are dedicated to supporting local businesses and fully understand the needs and constraints that they face. We are fully committed to developing supportive, long term relationships with local companies and will work to enhance their profile and development.”

Facilities include full Wi-Fi access, laptop availability, full audio visual equipment, food prepared fresh on site and other services including translation and note-taking.

Debbie Stocker, representing local business Matt Stocker Ltd said, “While it is fashionable these days to ‘support local’, it is not often that we are privileged to meet an organisation that is truly living and breathing it. I was incredibly impressed with the People Place’s approach to, and support of, smaller local suppliers. I was also very encouraged by its tailored, personal approach.”
