Local fundraiser fuels Kilimanjaro climb to tackle bullying

A community-led fundraiser has helped raise more than £2,455 towards a Mount Kilimanjaro challenge supporting children’s anti-bullying charity Kidscape.
Tracy, who will climb Africa’s highest peak in January 2026, is taking on the challenge to help protect young people from bullying and support Kidscape’s work creating safer, happier futures.
On 8 November, Tracy hosted a lively fundraising event in Warwick featuring hanging-bar challenges, fizz, raffles and a strong turnout from local residents. She was overwhelmed by the generosity of the community, with local businesses donating raffle prizes and supporters coming out in force. To date, £2,455 has been raised to support both the Kilimanjaro climb and Kidscape’s vital work.
Kidscape is a leading UK children’s charity dedicated to preventing bullying and supporting young people affected by it. The organisation provides practical help, training and resources to children, families and professionals, empowering young lives and challenging bullying at its roots.

Speaking about the challenge, Tracy said every step of the climb represents resilience and determination, both for herself and for the children Kidscape supports. “This isn’t just about reaching the summit,” she said. “It’s about using that journey to help protect children from harm and give them the confidence and tools they deserve.”
Tracy is also part of an inspiring climbing team led by Uncharted Summits, which includes celebrity hair stylist Andrew Barton. The group recently completed their first training day in the South Downs as preparations for the expedition continue.
Fundraising efforts will continue in the lead-up to the January 2026 climb, with Tracy encouraging anyone who can to support Kidscape’s mission to end bullying and help young people thrive.
