A rarely-performed Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, followed by a rendition of some of Lloyd Webber’s classic songs, is next up at the Henry Street venue.

Through a series of touching songs and letters, the audience is taken on an emotional rollercoaster that speaks to anyone who has ever dared to love and lose.

“The lyrics and music are simply crafted, yet portray a complexity of character and narrative that is entrancing.”
Predominantly a one-woman show, the protagonist is played by Hayley Glover, who wowed audiences when she played Mrs Lovett in the Rugby Theatre’s 2023 production of Sweeney Todd.
Hayley is supported by a trio of backing singers, who add hauntingly beautiful backing vocals to the heartfelt songs, which include ‘Take That Look Off Your Face’ and the title track ‘Tell Me On A Sunday.’

Hide AdAs Tell Me On A Sunday is a one-act musical, Rugby Theatre’s ‘Ladies of Lloyd Webber’ will perform for the second half of the evening, with five beautiful voices delivering some of Lloyd Webber’s best loved songs accompanied by a six-piece orchestra.
“Tell Me On A Sunday is usually reserved by Andrew Lloyd Webber for up-and-coming or well-known leading ladies as a star vehicle, so we have been privileged to be granted a licence to put on the show,” continues Kenny.
“For the likes of Marti Webb, Claire Sweeney, Denise Van Outen and Jodie Prenger to be attracted to the piece it must hold something special.
“Whether you are a long-time fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber or experiencing Tell Me On A Sunday for the first time, this production is sure to tug at your heartstrings, making you laugh, cry, and reflect on life’s unpredictable journey.”
Tell Me On A Sunday runs from October 19-26. Tickets are available from the Rugby Theatre box office on (01788) 541234, or www.rugbytheatre.co.uk.
