Can you help to keep Rugby woman, 54, alive long enough to make memories with granddaughter?

The family of hard-working Rugby accountant and Rugby Elim Church member Alison Brackley are desperately trying to raise money for a treatment which could extend her life so she can live long enough to make memories with her granddaughter.

Alison, 54, has inoperable stage four pancreatic cancer and, although she has been receiving treatment at UHCW and the Hospital of St Cross, her prognosis is terminal.

The news has been devastating for the entire family, but sister Annette Clubley said one of the most awful prospects is that Alison's five-year-old granddaughter Isabelle is too young to form many memories of her.

Annette said: "They are very close, and before the pandemic they saw each other as much as possible.

"But the lockdown has made things much harder, because we can't be there to support Alison in person.

"Alison really wants to have a chance to be able to spend more time with Isabelle so they can build memories together."

The family discovered a ground-breaking evidence-based treatment which studies suggest transforms the prognosis of patients like Alison from living for another year to living for another two or three years.

But the operation, known as Irreversible Electro Poration, is not available on the NHS - so the family are hoping to raise £35,000 to fund the treatment.

Annette said: "There is a narrow time window where the surgeon says the treatment is viable, we are really trying to raise the money in time."

So far £4,600 has been raised, and the family hopes to continue raising money by holding raffles and running a marathon.
