Church bells tolled and people held vigils on their doorsteps yesterday (Tuesday) across the Warwick district, as people remembered those who died during the Covid pandemic.

Tuesday March 23 marked the anniversary of the first UK lockdown, when our world changed.

Last night, many stood on their doorsteps with a light to remember those who we have lost.

And earlier in the day, many stood still during a minute's silence across the country at midday.

Some churches conducted a Covid-compliant memorial events and the tenor bell at St Mary's in Warwick tolled 252 times, one for each person who died in the local area from Covid-19.

Marie Curie shop in Leamington lit up its window in remembrance of lives lost during the pandemic.
