Five people fined for breaching Covid rules in Kenilworth last night

Five people were given fines for breaching Covid rules last night in Kenilworth.

Police came across two separate incidents of people who are not in the same household driving over to the town from other places.

The first incident involved a man and woman who had travelled to Kenilworth from Birmingham. They don’t live together and weren’t exercising so both have been fined.

Police also came across three men from Coventry who had travelled in one car to sit in Abbey Fields car park. They all live separately and have been fined as well. In addition one of the men was issued a cannabis warning for possession of a Class B drug.

A police spokesperson said: "We have also stopped multiple vehicles for a number of reasons, including two showing as no insurance however following enquires transpired that they were.

"We are still not out of this lockdown and we all need to play our part. If it isn’t essential please stay at home. We will enforce blatant and flagrant breaches."
