Latest Covid-19 figures show that there have been a rise in cases in the south of Coventry, near the northern border of the Warwick district.

Statistics put together by the Government for the period between September 17-23 show 37 people with a lab-confirmed positive test result in the Cannon Park and University area, south of Coventry.

Some people have pointed out that the area includes the University of Warwick but most students only returned to the campus this weekend.

Some students, mainly international students, did return earlier but they all quarantined for two weeks.

The Cannon Park and University area is the highest concentration of cases on one single area for many miles - higher than any single area in Leicester, which is still under its own localised lockdown. The next highest area is in Birmingham.

In the wards around the Warwick district, the numbers are comparitively low.

Here are the figures for the highest areas:

Whitnash: 6

Leamington East & Sydenham: 4

Leamington Central & North: 4

Leamington Brunswick: 3

Kenilworth South: 3

Kingswood & Leek Wootton: 3
