Sytner hosts Olympic masterclass

As part of their continued support of local pole vault athlete, Steve Lewis, Sytner Coventry joined with Warwick University to host a masterclass for children from Stoke Park School.

Steve Lewis is currently training hard, as he endeavours to represent Team GB at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The students from Stoke Park School joined him for a training session at the university.

Filming company Blue Ridge Film also attended to video Steve Lewis for a project they are currently working on with the group’s area marketing manager. The project is related to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and they will be producing a series of short films on the dealership’s London 2012 hopefuls in the run-up to the games.

Steve said: “I had a really fun day coaching the students from Stoke Park School at the Coventry athletics track. I went through some tips for warming up and sprinting and am really happy with how the session went and how they responded.

“We had some great questions at the end and I hope they take something away from our session today.

“When I was about their age I met an Olympian and that has stuck with me until this day, so I hope it will be the same for them.”

“I have just got back from USA, which was a very successful training camp. I got more out of it than I expected and have come back with an Olympic A standard which is great. I’m in a pretty good position at the moment and I have competitions starting in Europe, so the next few days will be recovery and will then try to get a personal best and be prepared for this summer.”
