Up to 40 houses are decorating letters to display in their window and the PTA will be selling a map for people to follow the trail and work out the Christmassy phrase by spotting the letters.

Submit the correct phrase to the PTA to be entered into a prize draw. The village will be decked out in festive lights and decorations.

You’ll be able to buy a map from the PTA between 11am and 6pm on both days from their stall outside the social club in Lewis Road. All proceeds raised by the PTA will go towards outside play equipment for the village school, after the old structure was condemned.

The social club will offer takeaway hot and cold drinks. Cakes and snacks will also be on offer. Due to current restrictions toilet facilities will not be available.

The public can participate on foot or in a car and they should stick to Covid restrictions.

Four children from the school will judge the lit up houses and choose a winner.

The PTA said: “We’re very excited to run the trail for the first time this year and are immensely grateful to everyone for their support - this includes the residents who’ve volunteered to decorate their houses or display letters and local businesses and supporters of the PTA who have kindly donated prizes for the raffle.

"Everyone has had a very trying year and we hope to spread some Christmas cheer this way.

"Please follow local and national restrictions when participating in the trail."
