Come up and see Steve

ORIGINAL ‘Cockney Rebel’ Steve Harley will bring his acoustic show to the Assembly in Leamington on Wednesday.

The rocker plans to play at least one track from each of the 13 albums he has released since his best known work with Cockney Rebel in the 1970s.

The show will take fans through the decades and up to present day with tracks from Steve’s new CD Stranger Comes to Town.

Steve has recently performed at the Isle of Wight and Glastonbury Festivals but is slowing the pace with his acoustic sets as he takes the stage with his Cockney Rebel band mate Barry Wickens.

The set will be built around favourites such as Mr Soft, Judy Teen, Mr Raffles, Sebastian and the massively popular Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me).

Steve said: “Playing the songs in an acoustic format gives me time and space to enjoy every second.

“We improvise, which is always a big excitement for any musician.

“We can loosen off the arrangements and really explore.

“It gets pretty exciting during the acoustic sets.”

The show starts at 7pm and tickets cost £22.50.
