Famous Shakespearian females on Warwick stage

Shakespeare’s female characters wronged by men and the society they represent will be brought together on stage at the Dream Factory in Warwick next month.

Shakespeare’s Young Company (SYC) will stage Shakespeare’s Wronged Women, a 90-minute collage featuring characters spanning the Bard’s entire writing career, including Rosalind, Helena, Titania, Joan La Pucelle and Queen Katherine.

The performance will take place on Friday March 1.

SYC - a training and performance project of Playbox Theatre - is a programme enabling young people to train and perform the plays of Shakespeare and his contemporaries with emphasis on the work as living, contemporary drama.

SYC is now in its fifth year of development and over the next 12 months will be launching an expansion plan to reach more young people in the UK.

Tickets are now on sale at £10, to include a free glass of wine, and can be booked by calling 419555, extension 2.
