GRIPPING and tense supernatural thriller The Bridge comes to Leamington soon.

The play, created by Worcestershire playwright Alex Jones and staged by Mouthpiece Productions, will be performed at The Space Upstairs, in Spencer Yard, off Spencer Street, on Saturday October 16 from 7.45pm.

Based in the present day, The Bridge tells the story of teenage couple Tom and Lucy who are on the run.

They are offered shelter by a mysterious stranger and hide in a shadowy ancient house.

As the candlelight flickers Lucy becomes convinced she has been in the house hundreds of years before and the pair discover a link between their current lives and a couple who lived during the English Civil War.

Jones said: “The subject matter of The Bridge, being both historically accurate, coupled with social comment on how things have not changed much for a various class of society, would be of interest to contemporary theatre audiences.

“Particularly as we see how fragmented British society still is in spite of so much progress.”

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £8 for concessions.
