Atkinson Stilgoe holds Help to Buy fortnight

Following the success of its ‘Help to Buy Week’ back in June, Atkinson Stilgoe expects to see even more interest from new homes buyers at its upcoming event, especially with the broad range of developments it is currently offering with the scheme.

Help to Buy enables buyers to purchase a new build property worth up to £600,000 with a five-year, interest-free Government loan for up to 20 per cent of the value of the property. This means buyers may need only a 5 per cent deposit to purchase a brand new home.

It also means they can potentially afford a larger property which will fulfil their needs for a longer time period rather than having to upsize again a few years down the line.

Branch manager Roger Simpson said: “I would urge buyers to get in touch during our ‘Help to Buy Fortnight’ to discuss whether they can benefit from the scheme.

“We have seen a phenomenal level of interest in using Help to Buy to purchase a new home since it was launched.

“In light of the recent announcement of a new Help to Buy scheme available for all properties, we expect to see even more interest in larger, new-build homes as first-time buyers use the second part of the scheme to free up second and third time home movers who have been trying to upsize.”

There are now two schemes available including Help to Buy equity loans for new homes and Help to Buy mortgage guarantee which is available on all properties.

Roger added: “The latest announcement by the Government was three months earlier than expected and is fantastic news for buyers, who can use it to make a purchase, and sellers, who will benefit from the influx of buyers we expect to see and can even use Help to Buy themselves on their onward purchase.

“During our ‘Help to Buy Fortnight’ we are hoping to speak to as many people as possible about how they could use Help to Buy.”
