Brian Holt customers help boost cancer fund

Customers of Leamington estate agency Brian Holt have helped raise £1,000 towards research into kidney cancer by sponsoring a Wellesbourne woman who has completed a 100 mile walk in her husband’s memory.

Jane Cure, whose “Walk for A Cure” through Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Northamptonshire, raised an incredible £8,000 in total, lost her husband Ade after a four year battle with the disease.

Brian Holt was one of a number of local businesses and individuals sponsoring her.

Since she started fundraising, Jane has raised around £60,000 for the James Whale Fund which funds research into the causes and treatment of a cancer which claims nearly 4,000 lives a year across the UK.

Brian Holt manager Jane Canning donated £100 for every new instruction she received in August and September – a pound for every mile of Jane’s walk from every seller – and so far has raised £1,000.

She said: “I have nothing but admiration for Jane and the team. Barely able to walk for crippling blisters, Jane and her fellow companions made the finish line in the pretty village of Middleton Cheney.

“We’re so glad so many of our customers decided they wanted to help us raise money for this very worthwhile cause.”
