Brian Holt’s viewings are up by 63 per cent

Property viewings at Brian Holt’s Leamington office rose by 63 per cent in September compared with the same time last year and mailing list numbers were up by 41 per cent.

And valuations at Brian Holt’s Earlsdon office rose by 63 per cent in September, reflecting the buoyant buy-to-let market in south Coventry.

The rises were matched by Brian Holt’s office in Kenilworth, where valuations doubled in September, compared with the same month last year.

In Earlsdon instructions rose by 50 per cent and contract exchanges were up 11 per cent on last September.

The figures follow a buoyant summer in which sales rose by three quarters compared with the same season in 2011 – largely because of the rise in purchases of buy-to-lets as an alternative to investing in a building society.

The Coventry city centre office too is seeing a good deal of interest, with year-on-year valuations up by 33 per cent and instructions by 11 per cent.

Brian Holt director and manager of the Earsldon office, Clive James, explained: “The proximity of the city’s two universities to Earlsdon and to the city centre combined with the current low building society interest rates mean we can hardly keep pace with the demand for two and three bedroom houses in the area which represent an excellent investment with a ready market.”
