Connells says the lettings market still very active

The lettings market in Leamington remains very active with demand for rental accommodation in the area remaining high, according to local lettings agency Connells.

Selina Egan, lettings manager at Connells, said: “The lettings market has got stronger as the year has progressed. We have lots of professional tenants registered with us and two-bedroom properties in Leamington and Warwick are proving particularly popular. However, we are finding there are not enough properties to let to meet the demand.”

With house prices stabilising and demand from tenants remaining high, now is a good time for landlords and first-time investors to build their portfolio.

Connells is finding that properties are letting well, in many instances quickly, and many landlords are achieving good yields in the current market.

Selina added: “First-time buyers, young families and others who do not have the ability to buy a home have to look to rent for longer, so we expect levels of demand to remain high.

“We work very closely with the residential sales team, passing on any leads we may have to each other, whether it is a landlord looking to sell a property or perhaps someone looking to rent now with the hope of purchasing a home in the future.

“We see this as a great advantage to their customers.”
