Knight & Rennie offers clients new auction service

Regional estate agency Knight & Rennie has started a new auction department this month, having joined forces with other independent estate agents across the Midlands to provide the new service.

Knight & Rennie director, Oliver Knight, said that although the company’s offices across Warwickshire offered a number of property-related services, he had always wanted to offer clients the option of selling by auction when possible.

The auctions will be held regularly at the National Motor Cycle Museum, Hampton in Arden, where good motorway access will make it easy for purchasers to attend.

The first auction is scheduled for March 20.

Whereas traditional auctions will be offered, the service will offer something new to the Warwickshire scene.

Knight & Rennie will be offering ‘Auction +’, a new way of auctioning property with a conditional contract being offered to the successful bidder.

This will alllow the purchaser, after the auction, to organise legal work, funding, etc, and will go a long way to taking the anxiety and fear factor away from buying at auction.

Knight & Rennie’s ‘Auction +’ service will create a more relaxed environment in which people can buy property with less pressure but still with a fixed date for completion of the sale.

Oliver said: “Whereas in a traditional auction, most agents would be looking for a typical auction property, we are now looking for clients who seek to buy and sell but within a fixed time frame.

“With ‘Auction +’ the type of client is of greater importance than the type of property and the new style of auction will suit those vendors who need to sell within a specific timescale and also those buyers who need to move into their new home by a fixed date.”

The new style of auction will bear little resemblance to the traditional and will take place as a staged event with a backlit stage which will show details of the properties being auctioned together with the bid prices and supporting graphics as the auctions progress.

Whereas traditional auctions will still be offered, Oliver believes that ‘Auction +’ will become a more popular auction choice and is keen to encourage anyone wishing to sell their property by a fixed date to contact Knight & Rennie – which has offices in Leamington and Kenilworth– as soon as possible.
