Sean will cycle around the UK to help the homeless

Sean Newman is cycling around the UK to help raise £100,000 for the homeless.

In July 2010 Sean Newman’s attempt to cycle across America was ended with a near fatal accident. Two years later on, Sean will begin a 3,000 mile bike ride round the coast of the UK to help raise £100,000 for homeless charities

The bike ride which started on Saturday is being sponsored by the property web site Zoopla who have provided a support vehicle for the 32 day challenge.

Sean (pictured) is doing the challenge with Jon Cooke of Intercountry Estate Agents and will be joined by various property professionals from around the UK who will be sponsoring a leg and cycling various sections with Jon and Sean.

Sean said: “Being an estate agent and letting agent, I am in the business of finding people somewhere to live. However, not everyone can afford to buy or rent a home so this charity is close to my heart. Becoming homeless can happen to anyone, especially in this economic climate.

“The average life expectancy of a homeless person in the UK is 43. So if you are fortunate to have a roof over your head, please spare a thought for those less fortunate and join us on the ride or make a donation online at www.justgiving.com/The-Estate-Agency-Foundation. Every penny is appreciated.
