Selling homes in Warwick again

A former King’s High School pupil is taking one of Warwick’s best known names in estate agency back into selling houses in the town and surrounding villages.

Ali Hawkesford, who manages Hawkesford lettings agency in Swan Street, Warwick, has confirmed that the office will resume selling houses from a Warwick-based office.

She runs the Warwick branch of the family-run firm of estate agents, lettings agents, chartered surveyors and auctioneers, which has its main branch in Leamington

The Warwick office had focused solely on lettings since it opened in 2009.

She said: “This is an exciting time to be coming back into residential sales, which is something we haven’t been able to do from a Warwick office for the last six years since my father sold his former company.

“But for me this is a real homecoming, as I used to help my dad in his offices in the town as a child during weekends and school holidays, photocopying house details and that kind of thing.

“He then sold four of his offices, retaining the head office in Euston Place in Leamington, which is run by my brother James, a former Warwick Boys pupil.

“He is a fully qualified as an RICS surveyor, and we have retained membership of the National Association of Estate Agents and so have continued to buy and sell properties through that office during that period.

“But now that the restriction covenant agreed following my father’s sale of the business has expired, we are looking forward to rejoining the sector at an exciting time to be getting back into residential sales, as the market begins to show signs of real buoyancy in Warwick and the surrounding area.

“We’ve run a strong lettings business from our Swan Street site for the past few years, which is going from strength to strength, with new instructions coming in regularly, and rapid turnarounds on individual properties.

“For example, last week we received a new instruction on Wednesday, held a viewing on Friday and confirmed the let on Monday. Not a bad result in less than a week, we felt.

“Our strength is that we are able to offer a genuine local service to property owners across the area, including all the surrounding villages from Hatton and Barford to Leek Wootton and Stoneleigh, handling properties which appeal to all sectors of the market from large family homes to smaller, cosier properties suited to couples or even individual occupancy,” she said.

The Warwick office is staffed by Ali Hawkesford, Wendy Coleman and Frances Cook.
