An album of songs about people connecting with nature over the lockdown is being put together - and your help and personal experiences are needed.

As part of rural touring network Live & Local’s Livingroom Project, Foundry Wood in Leamington - which has now reopened to the public - has been paired with science-singer-songwriter John Hinton to collaborate on a mini-album of songs about what they describe as 'mankind, the natural world, and coronavirus, and the meeting-point between the three'.

John said: "I am interested to know your experiences of connecting with nature during the lockdown – did a walk in the countryside become part of your regular routine? Did you explore places you may otherwise not have done? Did the view from your window include a tree that came to have a special meaning to you? Did you get really into gardening?

"Your story could then be turned into an epic folk song!"

Kristie Naimo, chair of Friends of Foundry Wood said “Connecting with nature has had an important positive impact for many of us during lockdown so we are excited to be working with John to capture some of the stories.

"We love the creative concept of turning these stories into folk songs!”

"Foundry Wood is now open on most days of the week thanks to volunteers.

"We do not have set opening hours however we are open from about 10am to around 4pm (longer hours in the summer months).

"On occasion, small, organised groups are meeting for activities and the woodland will be closed.

"This is to maintain social distancing and manage any overcrowding. We also have a one-way system in place around the wood."
