Foundry Wood, Leamington, doors open 7.15pm, film starts 8.30pm: Leamington Underground Cinema is screening The Blair Witch Project, the film purportedly made from the documentary footage shot by three student filmmakers who disappeared in the woods near Burkittsville, Maryland in 1994. The organisers will have expert guides on hand to explain the little-known occult history of the Foundry Wood site and the dark spirits that are said to lurk in the wood to this day. Ryton Pools Country Park, 6.30pm to 8.30pm: Have you ever wanted to enjoy the sound of birdsong but have been put off by the early start? From early spring through to summer as the sun sets, songbirds fill the air with music. Leamington Art Gallery & Museum, 2pm to 4pm: The museum is running free drop-in knitting workshops on the lead up to the ‘Concealment and Deception: The Art of the Camoufleurs of Leamington Spa in World War 2’ exhibition. Leamington University of the 3rd Age Knitting Group - The Woolpack will be giving the knitting workshops. The public will be invited to create knitted graffiti artwork for two of the Royal Pump Room’s columns. The columns will be ‘yarn bombed’ and camouflaged. One column will be yarn bombed with white, blue and grey shades to represent water - the North Atlantic and ship camouflage, as well as signifying the River Leam. St Mary’s church, Stoneleigh, 7.30pm: Warwick-based choir Immanuel’s Ground will take a look, in a concert of music and words, at the times of George III, as seen through the eyes of some of the then residents of Stoneleigh. The event is being jointly hosted by the church and Stoneleigh History Society, with all proceeds going to the church fabric fund. Tickets: £10. On arrival at the perimeter holding area, audience members will be briefed by military personnel who will then escort them safely in teams to the viewing arena, ensuring that no unpleasant lycanthropic episodes take place. The organisers warn that a mysterious presence has recently been noticed in the woods – so stay on the path at all times. Food and drink will be on sale at both events. New House Farm, Knightcote, CV47 2EQ, 9am to 4pm: The Midlands Meeting of The Lifeboats Enthusiasts Society. Radio-controlled model lifeboats, from 3000mm long to 200mm long, will be displayed on shore and on the water, with talks on the Dungeness Lifeboat Station and the ex-lifeboat ‘Marie Gabriel’ (in the Chatham Lifeboat Collection) will be given.
