Air ambulance called to motorist trapped in car after driving into ditch in Southam

The air ambulance, police and firefighters were called out after a car ended up in a ditch with a person trapped inside.

Warwickshire Fire Control received a request from the police to assist at a road traffic collision on the A423 Banbury Road, Southam, yesterday at around 1pm.

Fire engines from Southam and Leamington Spa attended.

The incident involved a car that had left the roadway and gone down a ditch, with one person trapped in the car.

Firefighters released the casualty using small tools.

The police, ambulance and air ambulance were also at the scene.

Crews were in attendance for 30 minutes.
