Air ambulance rescues heart patient

WARWICKSHIRE and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance was called to a football match in Leamington on Saturday where an elderly spectator was suffering from heart problems.

The 78-year-old woman had collapsed during the match and land ambulance crews were unable to reach her due to impassable muddy roads.

The WNAA crew were able to land close to the patient ensuring fast treatment.

When the crew arrived the patient was conscious and alert but suffering from a fast heart rate.

She was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment.
