The incident happened on Friday October 25 at 3.20pm to 3.30pm at the junction of Lillington Avenue and the Maltings in Leamington.

The 76-year-old man was walking past Kingsley Girls School towards Binswood Avenue when he was approached by another man, who is described as white, between 40 and 50 years old, of slim build and with light brown medium-length “messy” hair.

He was wearing light coloured clothing and brown shoes.

The younger man asked if he could buy a cigarette from the 76-year-old, who continued walking away from him. The man became aggressive, followed him, hit him from behind knocking him to the ground and demanded the man’s wallet before trying to kick him in the head.

The victim managed to kick out at the offender and get away.
