Appeal over assault in Leamington’s Old Town

Police are trying to trace two men in a red car who stopped at the scene of an assault in Leamington.

The incident happened in Tachbrook Road, near to Tachbrook MOT, shortly before 1am on Friday January 31, when a 45-year-old man was returning home from work and was assaulted from behind by another male.

The offender hit the man over the head several times and the two then began to fight.

The red car pulled up and one of the occupants separated the two men, and then drove off.

The man who was assaulted suffered bruising and swelling to his head and elbow but did not require medical treatment.

The offender is described as a slim, white, about 5ft 7ins tall and wearing a grey top with the hood up.

Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from the driver or passenger of the red car, or anyone else who has information which would help them with their enquiries.
