Arnold Lodge school welcomes new executive head teacher

Barbi Goulding-Parr has joined the school to lead its strategic development and direction.

Dai Preston will be head of senior school in charge of the day-to-day management and support for pupils and staff in Years 6 to 11 and the Sixth Form and Andrew Pollard is the head of the junior school, providing a parallel role for reception to year 5.

Ms Goulding-Parr brings a wealth of experience to Arnold Lodge.

She has led three schools as principal, was chief officer for a nationwide group of academies, oversaw school standards on the Isle of Wight and acted as a principal adviser on the Department for Education’s Building Schools for the Future programme.

A classically trained musician, she was awarded a Leverhulme Fellowship by the British Federation of Young Choirs.

She has also coached the Under-13 Olympic Gymnastics Team, winning national honours for four successive years.

Ms Goulding-Parr said: “I believe only in standards of excellence and have an unshakeable belief in the ability of all to succeed. We all have gifts and talents and it is our responsibility to maximise these to their fullest potential through inspiration and support.”
