Any Questions? was first broadcast in October 1948 and having initially been broadcast from Bristol and then London it now travels throughout the UK and occasionally Europe at the invitation of organisations.

It goes out on Radio 4 on Friday evening after the 8pm news, is repeated on Saturdays at 1.15pm and is followed at 2pm by the Any Answers phone-in which gives listeners a chance to join in with the debate.

The programme has had four chairmen in its history, with Dimbleby taking over from John Timpson in July 1987.

Its most prolific panellist to date is the late Labour MP Tony Benn who has contributed about 80 times, while others have included author Frederick Forsyth and journalist Janet Street-Porter.

Currently around 1.5 million people listen to the show.

The doors open for the broadcast at 6.45pm for a 7.15pm start and free tickets are available from Leamington town hall and the church office.
