SHE may have missed out on the Miss England title, but Ladbroke beauty queen Emily Ballard showed why she was in contention at a charity fashion show she organised last week.

Miss Ballard, who won Miss Natural Curves and a place at Miss England in April, held the show at Ladbroke Village Hall to raise funds for children’s charities as part of her work as a contestant in Monday’s competition.

The 21-year-old, who has just graduated in photography from Northampton University, called on friends to model end-of-line clothes provided by Stratford-based fundraising firm Smartys.

Guests had a chance to buy the clothes seen on the catwalk after the show, and proceeds from ticket sales and a share of sales were donated to children’s charities through the Beauty with a Purpose scheme.
