Raising funds for Castel Froma and Helen Ley care centres, all six of the village’s pubs once again took part in the four-day event over the bank holiday weekend, bringing in record crowds for the sixth year running in the festival’s six-year history.

As usual, festival-goers had the choice of walking between pubs - or taking a ride in a Shire horse-drawn carriage. There was also live music, hot food, Morris dancing, magicians and children’s entertainments from last Friday evening until Monday
afternoon.

Nigel Jones of the Buck and Bell said: “The weather was great and it was probably the best attended yet again.

“We were supporting Castel Froma and Helen Ley, who had a marauding gang of pirates out to raise money all weekend.

“Sales were getting stretched towards the end.”
