Beggars issued notice to leave Leamington town centre

Beggars were made to leave Leamington town centre during the festive shopping period after complaints from residents and business owners.

Warwickshire Police officers issued anti-social behaviour orders on several people found begging in the town last week after receiving complaints from shoppers and traders.

The anti-social behaviour notices forced the beggars to leave and not return within 24 hours. One returned and was subsequently arrested by officers.

Anyone with concerns over begging in the town, or across the district, can contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
