Big compensation bill for teen vandal

A teenager who damaged cars in a vandalism spree in Leamington has been given a community order and ordered to pay thousands of pounds in compensation.

At Warwickshire Magistrates’ Court in Leamington last month Charlie Steven Perry, 18, of All Saints Road, Warwick, was given a community order with 60 hours’ unpaid work and ordered to pay £2,149 compensation after he admitted five counts of criminal damage and asked for four offences to be taken into consideration.

On Friday December 21 last year Perry damaged wing mirrors on a Porsche Cayman, an Audi A4, a Peugeot 306, a Citreon Berlingo van and a Honda Jazz.

The combined cost of the damage was £1,750.

Perry must complete the unpaid work within the next 12 months.

The compensation will be paid in weekly £50 instalments.
