Blue badge price hike

THE cost of applying for a blue badge in Warwickshire is to rise fivefold from January, with stricter criteria for applicants.

The Department for Transport has asked local authorities to introduce faster systems with online access and increase security to reduce fraud and abuse. It will hold a national database.

From January 1, 2012 the cost of applying to Warwickshire County Council for a blue badge valid for three years will rise from £2 to £10.
