Brave Warwickshire Guides endure winter camp

Over 120 members of Girlguiding Warwickshire joined together for the first ever County Winter camp.

The Guides, all aged between 10 and 15 years, took part in the type of event that usually happens during the warmer months, thus earning them the Winter badge of Midlands Region Four Seasons Camping Challenge.

Taking part in a variety of activities during the camp, including go-karting and a camp fire, the guides from Wolverton, Harbury, Kenilworth, Coventry and Nuneaton were also asked to think about future challenges and events that the county team could host for them.

After a fish and chip supper and a warming drink of hot chocolate the whole camp settled down to a cold but comfortable night under canvas. Katie Meads, Guide Advisor and organiser of the event said “Guiding is all about expanding your experiences and as the girls have asked for this, I agreed to host our first ever County Winter camp. Well done to everyone who took part.”
