Bravery awards for police officers and staff after incident in Leamington


Sgt Simon Ryan, Ps Allison Wiggin, Pc Jillian Atkinson, Pc Leanne Popple, Pcso Lauren Dwyer, Pcso Alexander Young, Pc Rosie Ruddy, control room staff member Jot Shirley, and Cpt Charles Ayto from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) were those commended for their “brave and courageous actions and teamwork”.
The man was found in a dangerous and distressed state, and officers protected his safety and gave first aid until the arrival of the ambulance.

Hide AdThe awards were presented by Chief Constable Martin Jelley and Warwickshire Lord Lieutenant Timothy Cox.


Mr Jelley said: “The stories of bravery and courage of our officers and staff made me incredibly proud as Chief Constable to host and present the awards.
“The awards recognise in a small way the hard work that takes place throughout Warwickshire by committed officers and staff, who do their best to protect our communities 24 hours a day.”
The officers and staff are based at Leamington, Rugby, Warwick and Leek Wootton.
