Breaking: Rotary Raft Race postponed
PERSISTENT rain during the past week has caused organisers of the Royal Leamington Spa Rotary Club’s annual Raft Race to postpone the event.
The fundraising event was due to take place on the River Leam tomorrow (Saturday) but the water level of the river and slippery conditions around the weir at Jephson Gardens have made conditions unsafe.
Rotarian Mike Wilkinson said: “It’s a postponement at this stage, we have to speak to the park people and see whether we can do it another time.
“Hopefully it’ll be in July or August.”
