Shona Perkins and her mother-in-law Linda Baker, from Kenilworth, met Strictly Come Dancing star Len Goodman along with a host of other celebrities at a tea dance held at the Waldorf Hotel in Covent Garden on Sunday November 13.

She entered BBC Radio 2’s ‘Tea for Two’ competition at the end of October, where contestants had to text the answer to a question read out on air.

Shona said: “Being an avid fan, I was so excited when they told me I won.

“And knowing my mother-in-law also loves Strictly Come Dancing and head judge Len Goodman, I just had to take her with me.

“We had a super time dancing to the live band, enjoying tea and cakes and meeting the lively Len, Ainsley Harriott and Alan Dedicoat.”

Although they arrived late due to disruption on the trains, Shona said the organisers treated her and Linda ‘like royalty’.

The pair wished to encourage people to donate to Children in Need, as they believe it is a ‘worthy charity’.
