Champion in fire safety

WARWICKSHIRE Fire Service’s second most senior officer made a trip to Whitnash Primary School to present an award to a young fire safety champion.

Pupil Oliver Freelove was commended for his participation in the service’s education programme by deputy chief fire officer Gary Phillips.

The project was made possible thanks to a £4,500 grant from the Electrical Safety Council.

Children were asked to spot fire hazards in the homes of their family, neighbours or friends and hand in a completed assessment to their school.

As well as a certificate, Oliver was presented a £25 WHSmith gift voucher.
