Chris thinks these young people can make a difference

HIGH praise has been given to young people in Warwick district who work to improve their communities.

Warwick and Leamington MP Chris White was impressed by the “engagement” and “passion” of members of the district’s Youth Forum when he met the young people this month.

The Conservative politician listened to their concerns on a variety of topics such as how they can increase their engagement with the district and county councils.

Mr White spoke about the meeting during questions to the Leader of the House of Commons and asked the Government to make time for a debate on how to get young people more involved in politics.

The Leader, Sir George Young, congratulated Mr White on his efforts to reach out to young people and said the work of organisations such as the Youth Parliament have given him encouragement that young people have an important contribution to make.

Speaking about his meeting with the Youth Forum, Mr White said: “After meeting with the local Youth Forum, I am confident that given the opportunity our young people can make a positive difference.”
