Impressive specimens were on display at St Botolph's Church in Newbold for their annual Christmas Tree Festival.

Visitors flocked to the church to enjoy a variety of beautifully dressed trees on show.

Organisers said the church was packed for the launch of the festival, which kicked off with a concert.

Rugby Mayor Sally Bragg said she was impressed by the number of trees and the high standard of entries.

Janet Haynes MBE, who is on the church committee, said: “The theme was Christmas carols for the stained glass windows and children’s TV for the trees.

“The church was packed for the opening concert, with performances from Avon Valley and Brownsover Community School choirs.”

Crafts and refreshments have been available at the church.

“It’s been a successful festival,” added Janet.
