Come Dine dishes didn’t disappoint

COME Dine With Me - it’s the TV show in which amateur cooks try to win the prize for best host by making catty remarks about other contestants’ shortcomings.

But according to Offchurch fitness instructor Liza Macias, Warwickshire’s entrants for the Channel 4 show will shock viewers by being... nice.

The 50-year-old found herself pitted against contestants from Kenilworth, Henley-in-Arden and Warwick, all of whom got on disappointingly well.

Liza said: “They pick people to try to pull each other down. We were really lucky, we had a fabulous group of people. The directors were amazed.”

Of course, the show’s producers did their best: Liza doesn’t like Indian food, so one of the other contestants turned out to be preparing exactly that.

The sub-continental dishes proved surprisingly appetising, but a shock lay in store when guests arrived at Liza’s home.

Before they got to eat her French-inspired meal, guests had to don headbands and Liza led them through a dance routine while bodybuilders lifted weights to the strains of Tom Jones’ You Can Leave Your Hat On.

Liza’s episode of Come Dine With Me will be broadcast on Channel 4 on June 16.
