Connor Ball’s music career reaches new heights - with a fall in between...

Hatton’s very own singing sensation Connor Ball has reached new heights after three weeks of touring with American star Taylor Swift.

But he has returned to earth with a bump - literally.

The bass guitarist in teenage pop band The Vamps fell off the stage during one of his shows - but Connor was well enough to recover and capped off the tour with a final performance at London’s O2 arena.

He told his 398,000 Twitter followers: “So sad that we won’t be playing that show again but tonight was incredible, with some amazing people. So crazy.”

Just 12 hours after their final song, the teenage quartet of James McVey, Bradley Simpson, Tristan Evans and Connor announced their own tour which will begin in September. They will play at 11 venues including the Birmingham NIA.

The past six months have been life-changing for the ex- Henley High School student. In October, a closely fought chart battle with One Republic left them second in the UK singles charts with their debut hit song “Can We Dance”. Just four months later they returned to the top end of the charts with “Wild Heart” which reached number three. Popular American singer Taylor Swift described the English quartet as “an awesome band with a big future”.

The Vamps plan on releasing an album of their own in the near future after they finish touring with The Wanted on their “Word of Mouth” tour
