Coombe Abbey Hotel nominated for three prestigious awards

Finalists have been announced for M&IT’s annual industry awards, which celebrates and recognises talent in the events industry, and Coombe Abbey Hotel has been shortlisted for three prestigious titles.

The country house hotel, based in Brinklow, has been recognised as a venue of excellence in three categories, which include Best Value for Money Conference Venue, Best UK Unusual Venue and Best Conference and Banqueting Staff.

The national awards ceremony, which is orchestrated by trade and events magazine M&IT, is set to take place at Battersea Evolution in London on Friday, February 26.

Nineteen titles will be up for grabs on the evening and will recognise the best venues, suppliers, agencies and airlines in the business.

Ron Terry, general manager of Coombe Abbey Hotel, said the nominations highlighted the efforts of the hotel’s team to fulfil its vision of providing a quality experience for all guests.

“To have been shortlisted as a triple finalist in the M&IT Awards is a testament to the strength of the entire team at Coombe Abbey whether that is our staff working on reception, in the restaurant or conference suites as well as those working behind the scenes,” he said.

“Last year, we worked hard to develop our team and enhance our offering so it’s great that we are now receiving national recognition by one of the most established and reputed event industry bodies in the UK.

“Among other developments, we have invested in a permanent marquee which has allowed us to attract new custom and host a range of events from Asian weddings to car launches and corporate conferences, and in August we held our 350th event in the marquee.

“Since we date back to the 12th century, Coombe Abbey is an historic building which gives us a unique identity and this, combined with our dedicated team and excellent service, means we are well-equipped to continue working towards attaining further national recognition in future.”
